Govt may spend 5 bln rbl to compensate fuel costs of crop growers

MOSCOW, Jun 29 (PRIME) -- The Russian government may allocate 5 billion rubles to the Agriculture Ministry from the government’s reserve fund in 2018 for compensation of part of fuel costs of crop growers, according to a draft ruling published on the government’s website on Friday.

The draft ruling introduces amendments to a state agriculture program until 2020, where the provision of aid is unconnected with productivity. The ministry would be able to use the money to refund some of diesel fuel costs used in spring sowing, which should support crop growers’ margins.
